Group Rentals

The Climbing Wall offers two options for renting the wall: climbing parties and teambuilding events. These programs provide opportunities for groups to work together to reach their climbing goals. Rock climbing demands a high level of communication, personal responsibility, and teamwork. Each session provides a unique experience in which members of the Temple University community can work collaboratively to have fun and learn new skills with their group!

These group rental programs are open to all Temple University students and staff, including:

  • Student organizations
  • Athletic teams
  • Clubs
  • Sororities/Fraternities
  • Departments

External participants are not permitted to use the Climbing Wall for group rentals. Reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance.

Climbing Parties

Climbing Parties are designed to get your group on the wall as quickly as possible so they can climb and have fun together! Climbing Wall Staff will assist with fitting each participant with a harnesses and climbing shoes.

Staff will belay all participants, as well as encourage and help coach climbers. Climbing Parties are available to group sizes of up to 12 participants. No previous climbing experience is necessary. Each party is 2 hours and includes all equipment rentals.

 

Climbing Party Pricing

  • 1-12 participants for 2 hours:  $150.00
    • $40.00 refundable deposit required*

 

Teambuilding Events

Teambuilding activities are designed to develop trust, build confidence, and increase individual and group awareness through climbing and belaying. While individual efforts contribute to the success of the team, collaborative teamwork truly determines what heights the group can reach together. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff will prepare you to hold the ropes for each other during your event, adding a unique element of responsibility. This encourages teamwork through trust and communication. Teambuilding activities include icebreakers, a short belay clinic, and lots of climbing.

We will customize your experience with a variety of different climbing activities. Teambuilding activities are available to group sizes of up to 12 participants. No previous climbing experience is necessary. Each event is 2 hours and includes all equipment rentals.

 

Teambuilding Event Pricing

  • 1-12 participants for 2 hours:  $200
    • $40.00 refundable deposit required*

 

*The Climbing Wall must be rented outside of normal operating hours for a minimum of 2 hours. Each additional hour has a fee of $50.00. Fees are payable by Diamond Dollar, check, or cash in the Campus Recreation Main Office.  Checks returned for insufficient funds will be assessed an additional $25.00 fee.
