Campus Recreation employs more than 250 students each year. Student jobs include positions as office assistants, recreation facility monitors, adapted recreation assistants, group fitness leaders, lifeguard/water safety instructors, intramural sports officials and scorekeepers, climbing wall monitors, personal trainers, and website editors. Graduate Extern Positions
Campus Recreation will have 2 anticipated openings for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Graduate Extern must be a matriculated student starting Fall 2020
Graduate Extern is a 10 months position (mid-August through mid-June)
Position requires 22 hours per week spread out over 5 to 7 days per week
The position has a compensation package but tuition is paid by the student

1. Marketing - Graduate Extern
Summary of Position
The graduate extern for Marketing in Campus Recreation coordinates, maintains, and distributes the department promotional and informational materials to university-wide constituents through established and developing avenues. The extern serves as the primary “marketing” conduit for all program material distribution. The extern plays an active role in promoting student learning and development by assisting with the Student Staff Development component area and various assessment projects.
2. Business Operations - Graduate Extern
Summary of Position
The graduate extern for Membership and Support Services in Campus Recreation assists Business Manager in coordinating membership, access and payroll related services. Manage the patron access system and membership for all recreational facilities. Responsible for daily cash operations of Main Office, including deposits and register reconciliations. Supervise and administer biweekly student-staff payroll process for all department sites.
