Student Employment

Campus Recreation employs more than 250 students each year. Student jobs include positions as office assistants, recreation facility monitors, adapted recreation assistants, group fitness leaders, lifeguard/water safety instructors, intramural sports officials and scorekeepers, climbing wall monitors, personal trainers, and website editors. All applications for employment are to be submitted online. Student applicants with work-study status typically take precedence over non-work-study applicants.

Graduate Extern Position

Campus Recreation will have an opening for the 2021-2022 academic year. 
Requirements:

  • Graduate Extern must be a matriculated student starting Fall 2020

  • Graduate Extern is a 10 months position (mid-August through mid-June)

  • Position requires 22 hours per week spread out over 5 to 7 days per week

  • The position has a compensation package but tuition is paid by the student

Marketing - Graduate Extern 

Summary of Position
The graduate extern for Marketing in Campus Recreation coordinates, maintains, and distributes the department promotional and informational materials to university-wide constituents through established and developing avenues.  The extern serves as the primary “marketing” conduit for all program material distribution. The extern plays an active role in promoting student learning and development by assisting with the Student Staff Development component area and various assessment projects.
