Community Service CREW

The Campus Recreation Community Service CREW was formed in the Fall of 2006.  This group is made up of student staff that want to give back to the Philadelphia and Temple Community.  CREW participates in a minimum of two events a semester, which are decided by the Student Leadership team.  To get involved in CREW or to inquire about having our group volunteer at your event please contact Terri Sargent at

Each spring, CREW participates in Relay for Life for Temple University to benefit the American Cancer Society.  As a team we raise money and awareness as well as participate in the event, and most importantly, have fun!

For the last 2 years CREW has participated in Swim for MS.  This event raises money and awareness for the MS foundation.  Aside from fundraising, team members come to the Pearson Pool and swim laps to support the foundation and those with MS.

Each May Philadelphia hosts the biggest 10 Miler in the Country!  CREW volunteers at a water station each year and supports the runners going down Broad St.  If you have never witnessed the Broad St. Run it is quite the site to see and a lot of fun!

Other Events: CREW has participated in other events such as: Chosen 300 Soup Kitchen, Food and Clothing Drives, Ronald McDonald House, Rec Fest and many more.
